Frank at La Rosa
Executive Chef
Frank Pinello is a founding partner and an executive chef at Pizzeria La Rosa.
Frank is a native New Yorker hailing from Bensonhurst Brooklyn and Long Island. He is a trained chef and graduate of CIA (the Culinary Institute of America). Frank has worked at a number of pizzerias and restaurants throughout his career. This includes Giacomo’s in the Hudson Valley, with Chef Nate Appleman (A16, Pulino’s, Chipotle), and at Roberta’s in Bushwick. These experiences led him to open and create Best Pizza in Williamsburg. At Best Pizza Frank dialed in his pizza sauces and doughs to create his signature margherita, white and veggie pies.
In 2016, Frank teamed with Matt Di Gesu to open a full bar/sit-down restaurant that became Pizzeria La Rosa. In this role he helped to design the menu and operationalize the restaurant. Frank has continued to build his pizza empire with the addition of Best Pizza Dive Bar in Montauk, as well consulting for many emerging pizzerias and restaurants.
Frank is also the host of Vice's Munchie programs that includes The Pizza Show and A Frank Experience. In these show he travels around the world documenting pizza, local cuisine and culture.
